First, the technical…

My name is Jennifer Penny, but I go by Jenny Penny or Mrs. JP! It’s kinda catchy!  I am licensed in Washington, Oklahoma, and Florida. In addition to being a military spouse for the past 21 years, I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Nationally Certified School Counselor. I am also a Registered Play Therapist, Certified AutPlay® Provider, ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, Gifted and Talented Specialist, and Certified-Neurodiversity Affirming Assessments Provider (C-NDAAP). Currently, I am a Counseling and Psychology PhD student with plans to help future generations of clinicians become knowledgeable about the wide range of experiences we all share as neurodivergent individuals. Because, as we all know, what works for some does not work for all. While military life prevented me from becoming a clinical psychologist due to our many moves over the years, I am a strong activist and supporter of the profession and will do all I can to help further advance the practice.

While working in the school system as a mental health professional, I was able to witness firsthand the disconnect between internal and external stakeholders, as well as the development and appearance of neurodivergence throughout all stages of life, with all different backgrounds. After that experience, my focus shifted to wraparound care for all ages across the lifespan. I became a Master’s Level Certified-Neurodiverse Affirming Assessments Provider, specializing in ADHD, Autism, Gifted and Talented, SLDs, and all additional forms of neurodivergence. I pride myself on being authentic, genuine, sarcastic, having no filter, providing strengths-based, neuroaffirming services, and helping others process through generational trauma and create a life built on authenticity rather than shame and fear.
